Ingredients 1 cup shortening 1 1/2 cups white sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons cream of tartar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons white sugar 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Directions Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Stir in the eggs. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until well blended.
